Ozymandias Ramses the Great, who lived from 1292-1186 BC, constructed the massive Temple of Abu Simbel around 1200 BC. The temple was created to celebrate his triumph in the momentous Battle of Kadesh, which led to the signing of Egypt's first peace treaty. The structure was constructed in honor of Queen Nefertari, who was highly esteemed by Hathor and happened to be the wife of the builder.

The enchanted Colossi of Amenhotep III (1368–1350 BC) were built in 1350 BC and transported about 700 kilometers to stand at the city's entrance. The epic mythical narrative has 107 Latin and Greek inscriptions from the Roman era that majestically detail his beliefs and accomplishments.
