It is an ancient Egyptian temple located in the city of Kom Ombo. It is dedicated to two gods: Horus, the falcon-headed god, and Sobek, the crocodile god. The Temple contains a birth house, where it was believed that Sobek was born, and a Nilometer, which was used to measure the level of the Nile River during flood season.

A giant granite obelisk was left unfinished because of a crack in the stone during its construction process. Visitors to the Unfinished Obelisk can see the marks made by ancient tools on the stone and notice the intricate carvings and hieroglyphics.
The Philae Temple
Philae Temple has various buildings, such as the Temple of Isis and a temple dedicated to Horus. The temples have intricate carvings and hieroglyphics depicting ancient Egyptian mythology and daily life. Augustus built the Propylon, a monumental gateway. Various Egyptian gods and goddesses are depicted in large reliefs on the Propylon.
